History

The Drammenselva River has had a central place in Eikerbygda throughout history. Salmon fishing, timber rafting, boats and stories of life on and along the river are now documented with a permanent exhibition from 2025.

The community under Hellefossen is documented with its own student booklets with QR codes, which were first shown in 2023, and will become a permanent Salmon Museum, which will be completed in 2026. In collaboration with Eikerhistorie, a number of interviews have been conducted, and images and films have been collected, digitized and prepared for display. Together with the National Wild Salmon Center, special teaching materials have also been prepared, especially adapted for grades 5-10.

 

The DKS scheme has 3 main stations:
